DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME

2017

SOLD. Nickel plated reclaimed steel, concrete plinth.

5' 1'' (1.55M) tall (including plinth)

Made in the same phase as ‘Below The Sunlit Waters’ and 'Are We Sitting Comfortably?', these sculptures were made by ‘inflating’ the forms. I started with flat sheet and used a car tyre inflator and a lot of heat. ‘Don’t Try This at Home’ was unsettling to inflate, with a real worry of it rupturing violently. It was the first sculpture made in my new studio in Chetnole, Dorset, now owned by a dear friend in West London.
